Responsible Design

Our woven garments are produced locally in our hometown of Los Angeles, CA by our longtime partners. Working locally allows us to support our community of highly skilled craftspeople, and have hands-on oversight through the entire design process, resulting in increased efficiency and waste reduction.

BCI Cotton is produced within the Better Cotton Standard System - a holistic approach to sustainable cotton production which covers all three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic. Our denim styles are sewn in the USA with double single needle construction for durability. Our denim is made of 100% Cotton and produced in Italy. We are proud to work with one of the most sustainable denim mills in the world. Based in a nature reserve in Northern Italy, this historic mill is dedicated to sustainable production, with an emphasis on water conservation, circularity, and transparency at all steps of the process. The mill focuses on high quality, innovative raw materials, including cottons that are sourced close to home, fully traceable and free from harmful chemicals. Among the many globally recognized certifications our partners hold are GOTS, Better Cotton, Oeko Tex 100 and Global Recycling Standard certified, along with several certifications for safe labor and human rights including Wordly and SA 8000 certifications amongst others.
